Several ace serves, sound passing, great sets, and numerous kills led to another win when the team played a 16s team from Menomonie, taking the match, 27-25, 25-15. With their confidence building, the team finished pool play against a strong 15s team from Menomonie, ending with another win, 25-23, 25-21, which advanced them to the Gold bracket and seeded first in their pool in play-offs. Meeting the second place team of the other pool, the Tigers 16 Blue team from Albert Lea, the Coulee Crush played a strong offensive game once again, taking the match 25-9, and 25-19, taking them into the championship game of the day. Here they met a strong team from Monticello, MN, Club Liberty. Adjusting to Liberty’s short, middle game, the Coulee Crush defeated Club Liberty, 25-16, 25-20, winning their first tournament of the season.
